Hey, I did not think that we were going the donation route anymore. (If we
are, the Help Sid buy a 2000 fund is in need of contributors - but donate to
the list manager first!)
I do have a roadster question though. In the 2000 supplement to the
roadster repair manual, there are some odd photos - obviously prototype
cars. In some of the pics of the engine, it appears that the SU carbs on
the 2000 used a heat shield that was the same as the 1600. I was wondering
if this ever made it into production for some of the early cars.
I also have a heat shield with a water pipe attached to it that - although
it appears very similar to the 1600 - it may be for another engine. The
long "neck" that comes up to the water pump connection is short and has the
"bulge" indicating that it was made that way and not just cut down. Is this
a piece for a Sylvia or an RL 411?
Thanks,
Sid
