Hey all -
The forwarded email is from our new Roadster friend in Atlanta GA. My
advice would be to build the motor stock with SU's. I have in the past
polished the rods, but this is for more strength and not to lose weight. I
would leave the rods as-is. I think Taylor is looking for a fast revving
motor and lighting the flywheel is out of my knowledge/experience base. The
Bob Sharp racing manual at Datsun.org has flywheel lightening tricks.
Taylor would appreciate any ideas on this.
Thanks
Phil

Subject: RE: need a little advice
Hey Phil,
I'm wanting to set this 2000 up for low end performance b/c my last car(z),
was rigged up for all out top end. I talked to my datsun guy, and told him
I wanted max low end performance with his porting and polishing job, a low
end cam, and I'm planning on lightening the flywheel a great bit. If you
have any tips on tuning this motor for low end performance, I'd love to hear
it. Tell me a little more about the rods, I mean, I'd like to take some of
the weight off, maybe just a little, and plop some light pistons in.
Any help is appreciated-Taylor
