Sid Wins !!!!- first correct guess.
Sid guessed it first, but wasn't terribly sure, and Eddie got it dead-on.
Eddie, being in the UK, may have been at an advantage over the rest of us <G>
It's my 1965 Innocenti Spyder. Basically it's a Spridget with an Italian
re-body job. They made these from ~1961-70, also making a coupe version from
~'67-70. I've been told the total #'s were 17,500, of which only 50 have been
traced living outside of Italy.
Innocenti was also famous for their re-do of the Mini, and up until the early
'90's produced Yugos under their badge! The same company made the Lambretta
scooter.
Now we're all just a little bit smarter on yet another odd little bit of
automotive history.
Yes, eventually the car will be up for sale, (unless I get *really attached*
to it<G>). It oughta make an awsome little vintage racer - Spridget parts are
available just about anywhere.
The Honda guesses were pretty good- it's probably the most well-known of the
weird little cars, and any Aston Martin references on the URL, well,,,, that
has to do with my little problem with really needing one some day <G> ( This
is the same girl who parked herself in the middle of the A/M display at the
Vancouver BC ABFM for several hours..."just because") (side note: the new A/M
"Vanquish" - is that headache medicine or toilet cleaner????- not sure I can
cope w/the name)
