Well, I missed my first (planned-to-go) WyCROC road trip this weekend, as
my daily driver bit the dust Thursday nite (hope you guys are having a GOOD
ride, not GREAT, just GOOD :) ).
I *JUST* got a pair of Ztherapy carbs installed - an AWESOME improvement,
and I was SSSOOOOooooo cranked to travel!
So, I'm looking for pointers, advice, support, therapy, counseling, prozac,
a shoulder to cry on...
Thursday nite, after tidying it up, I went to start it - in
first gear, clutch in, and turned motor, and car jumped! Clutch would
not disengage!! AaiiggghhHHHHH!!!!
Well, I WAS able to track down clutch slave and master cyl's
locally, so put them in Friday (sort of - the !@#!@$ master's mounting
holes were 45 degs off vertical!! What kinda roadster does THAT fit on?? So,
used it for a fast rebuild of the old one). hydraulics move fork a good 5/8"
-- is that enough? 'Cause it sure didn't fix it!
What's left? I thought clutches went the OTHER direction when they failed?
It certainly wasn't slipping, or acting weird before...
Then today (Saturday), I tried adjusting the slave's rod (to clutch fork).
Tightened it up, and WHOA! It's starts to work again! Pedal play comes out
farther than before, but doesn't slip. Get back home, decide to tinker with
carbs, go out for another test drive. WHOA! Clutch won't disengage again!
What the @!*(#!@ is going on???
thank you for your support,
