Chris,

If I remember correct the item in the parts book is incorrect. ;-(
I think I ended up with the hose that went INSIDE the air cleaner
when I ordered the SU hose.

Solex and SU both used hoses from the valve cover to the air
filter housing. The Solex item was longer than the SU item.

Also the original nipple that bolted onto the valve cover was very
short, and the hose would always pop off. At least on my old
roadster the underside of the hood was covered in oil from the hose
popping off. Nasty fire hazard.

I solved both problems by just calling up a friendly roadster parts
supplier and getting the correct item. Ross (Sports Imports) had
them in stock, with the correct replacement nipple for the valve
cover.
