Well,
I haven't proven that it's broken. Several people suggested that I check
the clutch adjustment, and check the tranny fluids, prior to pulling it out.
Instead of doing this, I've been sulking...
I've had a little grind shifting from 2nd to 3rd, and a very slight grind
shifting
from 3rd to 4th, ever since I got the car back on the road (about 2 years
ago). I
figured this must be my syncros, and this would be a good winter project
(wanted to
drive it all summer).
The other night I was cruising around, going nowhere in particular, and all
of a sudden,
I couldn't shift to 3rd or 4th, but still had 1st and 2nd. I'm certainly no
expert,
and confess to not paying much attention to the tranny, so I gotta think
it's my own
fault.
P.S. My father-in-law is also Fred Johnson

Robert, just because you mentioned it...how did you break your tranny? I'm
buying a 67.5 1600 this Friday (on condition of final inspection) and I
noticed that it's a little "notchy" going from 1st to 2nd - it grinds if
you're not careful. I don't know if this is serious or just because an
adjustment is needed (the clutch is grossly out of adjustment).
Please reply and let me know what happened.
Thanks,
Fred J.

Hello,
Roadster Content: Cleaning up the garage from my dash off interior restore,
to prepare for my tranny project
Non Roadster Content:
Can someone give me a quick Z car tutorial, or point me to a Web site with
good basic info?
I'm not really shopping for a Z car, but I sure do see alot around town,
some running, some parked.
I don't really know much about Z's but I gotta think that there are some
darn good Z car deals out there.
Specific questions:
Are there certain model years to look for (like our 67.5 2000's)
Are there certain model years to avoid (no Roadster comparison here)
Where are the rust areas
What other things should I look for, both good & bad
Thanks...Robert - 67.5 1600 - Albuquerque (with broken 4 speed)
