When I took my right front fender off I was impressed by how light it
was and noticed that it had side marker light holes and another spot,
about 12-14 inches from the "point" at the windshield edge, that had two
little holes, that had been filled in. I checked my left front fender
and it had the same things. I thought that 67.5s didn't have side marker
lights, and as I understand, the fenders are a little different from
later year cars. I again verified that my car had the holes where the
low windshield bolts to the door jam area. Not a later body on chassis #
701. The inside of the fender looked a deep purplish red, at least in my
growing excitement. I believe the light weight cars were made in 68 or
later, and thought that a previous owner had privy to some of those
rare pieces if they existed, and they ended up on my car. Well today I
washed the inside of my fender and it cooled my excitement some. It
lightened up, and is a reddish brown color. But I am curious about the
side marker light holes.
