Trim paint

I am in the process of disassembling my 67.5. I have been cleaning up parts
as I take them off so it will be ready to be put back together. I want to
repaint the black portions of the chrome trim, grill, emblems etc. The paint
that is left is so faded it looks like flat black. Can anyone tell me if the
original paint was flat, semi or glossy and what type of paint has the best
chance of sticking to chrome. Thanks in advance for any advice.
