When I took apart my '70 2000 the rear shocks were hanging by the top bolt
only.
I surmised that the nuts worked there way off the bottom bolt
The right side rear was mangeled up with what I call the car's "Dog Bone"
I removed, cleaned, straightened and re-installed shocks, they work great
!!
The car had been sitting for 15 years and although the Guy I bought it from
was the PO to me, he had never had the car running.
Moral to the story, "Two nuts are better than one" !!
