I'm sure Calspeed was just doing what they taught us in Driver's Ed: Always
maintain at least one car length at speeds over 100.
I'd also like to point out that one other element to make a car go fast is
having a fast driver. IMHO, the truly great drivers seem gifted as in
something beyond mere learning. A great read in this regard in The Racing
Driver by Denis Jenkinson.
