Hey Gary,
Sounds like early latches to me. They had a "toolbox hasp" design where the
latch contained a U shaped hoop that fit over the bracket and then pulled
back to close. They were used until the 67.5 models came out.
When the 67.5 models came out, they included sun visors and the cantilever
latch was introduced for them.
The early latches will work on the 67.5 models but will tear up the visors.
Some people just take the visors off anyway.
