Sure. Just run a fused (30 amp) wire from the battery to the appropriate
connector on the fuse block. As I recall, and CHECK ME ON THIS, on my
'68 it's where the heavy white/red wire connects.

Disconnect the existing wire from the fuseblock first. Otherwise, if the
problem was a short in the wire between the gauge and the fuse block
you'll backfeed voltage onto it.

You still want to find what went wrong, as chances are there's other
wires that have been damaged and pose a hazard.
