Something seems ODD.
That size is correct for a four speed (SAE), but the threads on the
5 speed are metric.
I would GUESS they correct size is a 10mm x 1.00mm thread
(almost identical for the 3/8 x 24tpi). Alas, I have had more STRIPPED
bolts on the 5 speeds than I car to remember. Usually I put in a steel
insert (10mm x 1.5mm thread). Less likely to cross thread, and the
stainless steel insert and antiseize on the bolt means I can remove
it when the time comes.
