Why not try to modify one of the simpler mid-late 70's, early 80's 4 cyl.
fuel injection setups from the Datsuns? I'd be willing to bet it'd be much
less than the $3000+ Electromotive TEC-II, TWM etc. direction. Check out what
some of the 510 guys have been doing with the 4 cyl. NapZ motors, a lot of that
might cross over. You could probably get away with the ECU, wiring, fuel rail,
injectors, fuel pump, air flow meter, for cheap at a pick a part yard. The
manifold and airbox would be the hard part. There's gotta be someone out there
who's figured a similar modification on an old 4 banger L series motor out
there.
