Kelly sent this to me directly, but I'll post this back to the
list as it is interesting.
For the 1600 there was a competition bulletin on using oversize
valves for the 1600.
Intake 13201-14600 1.69"
Exhaust 13202-14600 1.38"
To allow for the oversize valves you need to "undercut" the head
for better breathing.
Now for the odd part, is I am not sure WHAT engine those
valves were originally used on. Perhaps the 411SSS Sedan?
I seem to recall the steel R head and Aluminum R head had
slightly different valves. Not sure.
So I wonder if you have a "small valve" on a larger
valve seat. Might want to check with one of our roadster
part suppliers on this one.
