I agree with Linda. I have reupholstered several interiors in sports cars -
mostly Roadsters. You can even sew in the correct pattern in the door
panels by cutting the foam the size of the panel and sewing it to the vinyl
then put the vinyl on the panel. Sewing the two pieces of the rear wheel
arch is very easy. I bought a old (60's) reconditioned Kenmore sewing
machine built in - guess - Japan. It is an all metal machine that must
weigh 50 pounds. It only cost $60 and I have sewn 5 layers of heavy cotton
for a boat project in the past. I haven't found any thing yet to slow this
beast down. Sewing may not be manly, but if it takes a man to pick up the
machine, I figure that is good enough. And with the money saved I can go
out and buy a big old manly beer.
