Pusher fans aren't as efficient as "puller" fans and block alot of the
radiator. I use a puller fan and took off my fan blade and my car runs
much better and the water pumps last longer too because there is not as
much stress on the bearings and seals. Plus you get better gas mileage
and more power.
I had to move the radiator braces about 1" to the front using rubber
spacers to fit the fan on w/o hitting the water pump shaft. I use a
Flexlite 12" pancake fan and I've had it on my car for about 14 years
w/o any problems. The early cars had shitty heavy fans that pulled no
air and my car constantly ran hot, especially in stop n go traffic. Now
I don't have that problem. Eliminated vapor lock and when you shut off
the car it continued to work so it cooled the engine down.
