Hello All,
Here is a new trick I have not heard anybody else admit too…
I was tightening the nut that holds the battery to starter cable on the
starter. Every time the wrench would make contact with the starter housing
(which is grounded to the frame) I would feel a throbbing electric
shock!!!!!!!!! Not very strong but still there… Now I know that the battery is
no where near the car so I test it out and yep I am definitely getting an
electric shock… Hmmmmm the throbbing should of tipped me off. I get up and
look in the engine bay and what do I find.. I have a trouble light on a
retractable cord that I had positioned above the carbs to shed some light on
the starter… Well, one of my choke cables had worked its way into the hot side
of an electrical plug that is also on the light I must of shocked my self
like ten times before I figured that one out…. Hmm no battery on car but am
getting shocked!!! Let me try that 9 more times to make sure its not my
imagination…
