Hello all,
You may have seen me post about my 67.5 2000 that is currently undergoing
engine and brake work at CDM. On that note, it looks like SRL311-00489 will
be back on the road by the end of January. She won't be pretty, but the
engine brakes will be great thanks to the guys at CDM (not to mention a lot
of parts)
When I got the car, I noticed it had Solex carbs with air horns. I am going
to put an original air cleaner on it for my restoration on the advice of
Les. Not strictly required, but it is an original solex air filter and will
look nice. My car is obviously not an "original" solex.as these are newer
(like the ones up for grabs on ebay) and I remarked to Dennis Currington
that my ID plate listed 135 hp, so my car was not an original solex.
Dennis said NIssan did not always change the ID plate to show the 150 hp on
the cars for those models that came with original solex. So I ask the age
old question again: is there a sure way of knowing if your 67.5 2000 is an
"original" solex or is this just a pipe dream?
