Randall and everyone,
I'd have to concur on this one. I consider myself pretty mechanically adept
having been working on old Datsuns for the last 16 years. I have rebuilt all
types of Datsun motors, a couple of Chevys and recently a Buick, and have
rebuilt transmissions (which I vow never to do again, because it's such a pain
in the @$$). The differential is the only thing I haven't taken apart to
rebuild as the tolerances are critical. For $250 as Randall says, I'd save
yourself the headache as well as give yourself peace of mind knowing it's done
right. Wondering if you've done it right or not while you're driving down the
road is not a happy feeling.
