The OEM Datsun oil pressure gauge is known for being a
"idiot light gauge". Especially true on the 68-70 versions.
If you actually have ZERO PSI oil pressure on the main
galley at idle speeds, the camshaft would have NO OIL on
it (U20 motor). In reality there is usually 10 psi at
idle, but you need to install an accurate gauge to see
the pressure reading.
I always install a good accurate gauge, with hot oil,
to double check this. Just a temporary installation, but
cheap insurance.
