Hi everybody!
I've had the best roadster day and it's not over yet. got to drive to my
bosses annual bbq about 30 miles east of L.A. and couldn't pick a better day
for a drive!
This just came in on the zcar list. It's too bad it conflicts with the
surfside event. I'd like to attend it as well but surfside has my history.
Maybe, the event coordinators could put their heads together for next year.

have seen posts about this event. This post is to invite and update everyone
on what is
happening. Below is information on specific areas of the event.

At this time there is over 60 cars and 75 people that are planning on
attending this exciting event. These are the numbers from registering on
zdriver.com Several people that don't have internet access have called the
hotline. I expect close to 100 cars and 125 people. Cars will be coming from
several states, including Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona. Event
signs will be placed along the roadway to help everyone arrive at the right
place. We are concerned
about getting everyone into the event in a timely manner. I would like to
advise everyone to come early. This event is expect to last 4 hours... if
history
repeats, it will last longer. Bring a folding chair if you can. We will have
some seating. Detailed information, including our map can be downloaded
from
http://www.zdriver.com
Car Show....
It is our intention to award cars in all categories. We have registered a
good number of cars in all classes except Roadsters and 280ZX's. We would
like to
see more cars in both of these classes. At this point if only one car of
each of these classes were to show up. They would get the award. 240, 280,
300 and 510 classes have several cars in them. Competition is expected to be
healthy and fun. Cars will be in all project states. From just starting to
completed. I'd
suggest you bring a camera... There will plenty of exciting designs and
creativity.
Speakers.....
All of our speakers have been confirmed. I've talked with each of the
speakers and I feel that each will have an exciting presentation on their
topic. Here is
a listing of the speakers and their topic.
Mike Yoes: SU Carb modifications and tips.
Andy Craig: Coil Over Suspensions and tires.
Dennis Griggs: Exterior Prep and Paint
Rick Freeman: Rebello Engine Developments
Each session will be full of tips and tricks and is expected to last 20-30
minutes.
Swap Meet....
Several people will have parts up for sale or trade. Rod, of Rod's Discount
Datsun Parts will have his truck at this event. For those that don't know
Rod, he
carries new and used parts for Roadsters, 510's and Z's. If you looking for
a hard to find part, chances are it will be there.
Food.....
We will be hosting a $5 all you can eat Hot Dog and Soda stand. If you have
ever been to Price Club/Costco and had one of their Hot Dogs and Sodas, then
you have experienced what we plan on serving. Come hungry and ready to eat.
The food will be good and we will have all the toppings.
If you would like to call the hotline feel free to do so. The number is:
(510) 794-0999. I will be the person to respond to all calls to this line.
It is our goal to have an event that is informative and fun for everyone. I
look forward to meeting everyone and feel that if this event turns out to be
a good one. I and the event organizers Dave C. (240Dave) and Kyle J
(GodZilla), would be interested in hold additional events.
Cheers,
Dennis
