Hi,
Any inquiries, send them to my home email fredkatz@2xtreme.net or
katman@2xtreme.net. At work I'm on the go constantly, to other sites and
can't always hit the email.
I love the title of this show: "11th Annual Old Car Picnic". Lindley Meadow
in GG Park is near 30th Avenue and John F. Kennedy Drive in San Francisco.
The day is Sunday, October 3, 1999, and they ask for a $10 donation that
goes to a charitable cause. No need to pre-register. I dropped in on the
show last year and saw many awesome 40's cars, absolutely gorgeous.
As Michael says, I'll be there with my '66 2000. Finally put the
finishing touches on the conversion last night, and fired her up at 1:30
a.m.! So the neighbors know I'm done! Nothing more thrilling than
flicking the ignition key and having her kick over right away, with a
nice hum. So far, no oil leaking from the rear seal, which I worried
about during the rebuild, so I must have done something right. However,
I got a cloud of smoke coming off the exhaust manifold. Oops, fuel line
leak! Other than that, great! Tonight's the test drive. See some of you
this weekend...

Hello,
This coming weekend will be the 11th Annual Old Cars in the Park Car Show.
It is held in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Last year there were well
over five hundred cars and only one Datsun Roadster. The nice thing about
this show is that it is held on the grass at Lindley Meadow. There are
several Picnic tables and BBQ pits.
I will try to get there early to save a table for us Roadster folks. Yes, I
will be there this year and so will Fred with his '66 2000 conversion. I
hope that a few more Roadster will attend. The shows schedule is from "Dawn
to Dusk" It starts to fill up pretty quick. Last year, by time noon rolled
around you could barely get another car in the Meadow due to all of the
people walking around.
The person running this event is one of the head gardeners at GG Park. He is
a major classic car enthusiast. I was told that each year there are more and
more cars. So I suspect that this year would be no different.
As you all know, I need to make some quick repairs on my Roadster to make the
show. I will be putting a new stering box in today. Was able to get one
pretty quick. Lucky me. I will be onb duty at the Firehouse on Fri and Sat,
48hrs so I will not be able to coorespond to anyone during that time. By time
I am off work it will be Sunday morning. The day of the show. If you need to
contact someone you can e-mail Fred Katz. Thanks Fred.
I will answer any questions up until late tonight.
