Daniel,
I have the ultra close tranny in my roadster. My first gear is the same
gear ratio as the standard trannies second gear. I have the stock
rearend gears in it, so when I come from a stop the car is a dog.
When I first got the car running I thought that I was starting out in
second gear, and I kept trying to put it in first. I had one of the CDM
guys drive it, and he was suprised that I had a ultra close in
it. . I'm well aware of how to side slip a clutch. I burnt my
clutch up at
the local cruise night.
I also had problems with the car staying in fifth gear. I was worried
that it was becoming fifth gear neutral. After replacing the leaky slave
cylinder and adjusting the clutch it never came out of fifth again.
I was told that if the trans grinds when you put it into reverse that it is a
clutch problem not a synchro problem.
When I get my motor back in I'm coming down there to help you give
some of those beautiful women rides!!
