Over the years I have owned and restored at least 10 Roadsters. The one
thing that they all have in common is that they have all had at least
one hair comb stuck down inside the demister vents below the windscreen,
one car had 3 down the vents. Today I was stripping all the parts off my
1500 parts car when I decided to look down inside the demister vents.
Sure enough, there was a hair comb stuck down in there. I fished it out
and then noticed that there was another one in there. I fished out a
second one and noticed there was still another one down there. This
continued until I set the "New World Record For The Most Hair Combs
Stuck In A Datsun Roadster Demister Vent" with a grand total of seven
(7) hair combs. For those of you interested the demister vents also
contained 2 pens, a couple of paper clips, several leaves, toothpicks,
57 cents, used match sticks, the "0" off the end of the "Datsun 1500"
emblem and half a small toy plastic soldier. The previous owner probably
wondered why the demister never worked properly.
