Steve,

I remember seeing a checkerboard floor. 12" tiles,
with a corvette in the garage. Looked nice, but
the garage was a "show garage". No mechanical
work was done in there, and the car had to be parked
using think boards, to prevent tire tracks. 

My garage, on the other hand, is always a mechanical
activity of things. Always tempted to have prep'd
and used an epoxy paint. Slippery when wet, but easy
to clean up. Some day. ;-)
