Hello,

Well, I finally installed my new set of Nismo Leaf Springs. I was quite
apprehensive at first as I have heard alot about how stiff and jarring the
ride would end up. Well, all those who made that comment were right! The
ride is alot different. Much stiffer. I have a new respect for those S.F.
Municiple Railway Tracks. But as everyone knows, Calspeed has a short story
to go with this installation.

When the old leafs were removed I noticed that one of the leaf spring
"hangers?" had a crack in it! I dont know how long it has been there. But
just seeing that freaked me out. It didn't look like it was gonna hold any
longer. And while I was underneath I decided to check the rear shocks. I
couldn't believe it. They were not even working. And one was even alittle
loose. They went straight up and had no rebound. A new set of KYB's were
installed in place of those.

I am not sure how long the car was running on those worn out components. The
car ran great on the street and track. So I thought. I had no idea of the
impending failure of those key components. To tell you all the truth, I felt
stupid at not checking all of those things prior to getting on the road. And
to think I drove it on a road course?! With those blown out shocks I was
basically running on just leaf springs and bump stops.

Well, the car handles nicely and sits quite low. Looks very nice and
aggressive. Tomorrow I will wash it and take some pics. I just hope we have
another one of those great California days. Ahhhhh... who am I kidding. We
will. Be safe and check out your cars periodically.
