  Arthur (and everyone),

Hey it's good to hear from you again! How's your red ride coming along?

As for the 215 swap, it's going well. Short block is done, Rover heads are
all ported and polished, and the Rover 5 spd is rebuilt. I just got the
performance TR8 clutch in a couple of weeks ago too. Time to bolt it all
together and see how it fits! The measurements are tight, there is
definitely going to be some interesting exhaust work ahead of me. I picked
up some Rover motor mounts and we'll probably have to do some cutting and
fitting (or fabricating) to get it re-welded to the Roadster frame. The
Buick mounts won't work as the engine originally mounted more underneath, to
a crossmember than to the side. The driveshaft is going to be interesting as
well, Rover CV joint at one end, Datsun U-joint at the other (seriously
considering something else here..).
I will be taking pictures of everything to document it, and put together a
website soon showing progress.
As for the rest of the car..
Chrome is ending up at $1200 including repairs, for everything....ouch,
still walking funny. Way more than I wanted to pay, but I don't have time to
drag all the parts around town for estimates.
Rick Lloyd from VA was kind enough to sell me a soft top frame, that I just
got a couple of days ago. Just received a hardtop last week too.
14X6 American Racing Libras are coming from N. Carolina courtesy of one of
the Dimers newsgroup. Gotta love all the old Datsun people!

Good to hear from you again Arthur! When you get your's done, give me a
buzz. I want to come see it again all together.

  Stan
