DFL'ers:
I just read this last e-mail on the early 1500's - as I get ready to go
out and get into my '62 (#83) Fairlady and drive home. I can tell you
the fiberglass seats are a pain in that the one on my driver's side has
broken down to the point where I have to use 2 sticks to keep it in
place. The vinyl on the seats must have been of pretty good quality
because all 3 of mine are in excellent condition yet.
My original carpet is still in good shape almost everywhere, but the
color has turned from dark black to a shade of brown. I don't know how
that works!
Until I read the description I guess I hadn't thought about how goofy
the seats really are in this car. The cushions, of course, lift out of
the tray very easily - so you aren't ever going to lose much of anything
in these seats.
These seats aren't real comfortable but we often, around here, sit for
an hour or two just getting to where we are going. They aren't all that
bad and the car just keeps purring along like it is supposed to.
