Well, if the temp sender reads correct, the voltage regulator is OK.
So that leaves either the fuel gauge itself, or the sender in the tank.
Clean out the trunk and open the access plate in the middle of
the trunk floor (4 screws that are probably rusted solid). Hook a
jumper from the sender wire to a body ground. Turn the key on.
If the gauge zooms to full, you have a bad sender in the tank. If
it doesn't, it _may_ be a problem in the wiring but is probably the
dash gauge itself.
New senders were still available from the dealer not long ago.
