An impromptu gathering of NQ roadsters will be held tomorrow, Sunday 23 May
at Alligator Creek National Park, south of Townsville. This meet will be
held in association with the Marque Sports Car Club, starting at 8:30 at
Top Gear Auto Parts in Townsville, for a 9:00 group departure, bring your
own brunch.
We expect to see two or three 2000s, a high-screen 1600 and maybe a low one
too, a couple of 1500s and a Sylvia, all rhd of course. The odd Z-car
will likely be present, too.
The roadsterites hope to upstage the rest of the club, with their
pedestrian V-12 Jags, V-8 Daimlers, racing Singers, MGs etc.
The Marque Sports Car Club is devoted to having fun, with cars being the
excuse to get together. Recent outings have included ocean sailing,
bowling, a tour through a sugar mill, go-cart racing and a fishing
competition at an inland dam. The weather in North Queensland is
absolutely perfect right now, for top-down driving. All comers welcome.
regards
