Since my 2000 did not have such a tube, I set about looking for an
appropriate one. I found that the stock tube on an '89 Sentra fit perfectly.
Slight press fit, and correct length to use the readily-available-everywhere
filter that fits the same Sentra as well as 300ZX's, Maximas and most other
semi-modern Nissans. This filter has the correct gasket and thread size to
work on the U20. BTW, after installation of the tube, I get instantaneous
oil pressure on start-up, even after the car sits for over a month.
