Sounds like a previous owner used some left over fan clutch
parts to make the spacer up.

The four bladed fan was used on quite a few Datsun's. The
replacement unit has two different set of holes.  I would
just buy a new one from Nissa or a Roadster Parts sourc
and not worry about an "off center" replacement.
