A bit of off the wall advice from the 1971 Chiltons Datsun manual advises
using a piece of rubber hose, like vacuum hose or fuel hose, if you
don't have a UNISYN. The idea is to stick the hose at the carb inlet and
listen to the other end, adjust the carbs until the hissing is equal.
Wherever you place the hose on one carb, be sure to put it in exactly the
same place on the other one, and switch back and forth listening
often. Sounds just simple and weird enough to work. I'm sure its not
as exact as a good synchronizer, but could be good enough to get you
on the road again.
