Hi all:
I have a '69 2000 that I got through Mike Young. He told me that the
trans was out and rebuilt, while he had it.
So, as I look at the trans, the shifter boot on the trans is torn to shreds
- doesn't seem like part of a quality rebuild....
I've had problems getting the car to go into first, feels pretty notchy.
The second gear synchro seems goofy, too - upshifts are fine, but if I try
to downshift with anything more than about a 250 rpm difference,
grrrrrrrrrind. It's almost exactly like my '66 1600 with a badly worn 4spd.
I'm going to go see Mike tomorrow for some parts and whatnot, so I'd be
interested in hearing yourall opinions. It's not that big of a deal, I can
handle a worn trans, but it was *represented* as a fresh rebuild, and paid
for $accordingly$.
TIA
Kyle
