Dear Friends,
In response to my query about what kind of gear oil to put into the
differential, having marveled at what Red Line MTL did for my aging
synchros with 85K miles' wear, Jim Tyler responded:

Thanks Jim. It worked wonders quieting down what had been a somewhat noisy
differential, especially so under load.
As for the details: I replaced about 1 1/4 qts. of differential gear oil
with (blue) Red Line Shock Proof. It works immediately!
At $8/qt., the Pgh. rate for either of the two Red Line gear oils (MTL for
the tranny and Shock Proof for the differential), it is absolutely
astounding what you can do for your drivetrain merely by opening a few
drain plugs!
Thanks for the advice about Red Line. They have my votes!
Regards,
Teddy
