I don't think it's been mentioned here, but there's going to be a get
together/show at Courtesy Nissan, north of Dallas on SUNDAY, May 9 (close
as we could get to 5/10 day <G> on the weekend). While the primary
purpuse is to celebrate 510 day, there's certainly no reason not to show
off as many nice roadsters as we can, too.
I'll be showing my video from last year's (all Datsun) Thunderhill/Shasta
as well as "Against All Odds", a 30 minute film produced in '73 (I think)
about BRE and the 2.5 Trans-Am series, and an ESPN Legends of the Sport
segment on the '73 SCCA Run Offs at Road Atlanta. Almost the entire
program consists of coverage of P. L. (as in Paul) Newman running his 510
along with Bob Sharp in his 610 in B/S and Sharp running a Z in C/P.
I'll post specific time as soon as I find out. There may be some vendor
support in addition to the always excellent event support Courtesy
provides.
FWIW, gas prices here (south central part of the D/FW area) were around
$0.80/gal (unleaded reg) two 1/2 weeks ago, but are now at $1.00. In
north Dallas (40 road miles) prices tend to run 12 to 15 cents/gal
higher. Figure that one out.
Later, Ron
