I drilled the screw out intending to replace it but after seeing the inside
of the pump, I threw the pump out and got another. If the plate is being
held by only one screw, you should be able to look inside to see if it is
worth keeping.

Subject: Frozen solid
Hello ALL,
Just for fun I was taking apart my water pump yesterday. THe three
screws that hold the backing plate on were frozen pretty solid. I got two
off but the third is frozen solid. How do I remove it??/Get rid of it??
