Fellow Midwest roadster owners: the tenth annual (yep, we've been doing
this since 1990) DDRD meet to Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI will take
place on Sunday, July 25th; coinciding with the Merrill Lynch/Brian Redman
International Challenge.
Check out <http://www.roadamerica.com> for more track info, directions,
accomodations, etc.,. The racing begins on Thurs ($10), Fri ($15), Sat
($25), and Sun (join us! $30).A superticket is Fri-Sun ($55).
We'll be there on Sunday, outside turn 3, in the Windy City Z-Zone Pagoda
(They like to see us "old folks"). I'll be there, either racing or
trailering my recent arrival, ex-Col. Joe Hauser's GP race car.
Walking shoes, binocs, camera, cooler, folding chair and, hopefully,
sunscreen/poncho (if not) are recommended. We encorage getting out and
wandering. RA has great terrain changes and many prime vantage spots. Plus,
hundreds of ...the coolest cars around!
Headlining the event, the ever popular Can-Ams (more than 30). More than
100 Fomula V's will be there celebrating their 35th Anniversary, plus
vintage (VSCDA) enduro races on both Sat and Sun. "It's a trip down memory
lane you won't soon forget."
This is your opportunity to come out to one of the most beautiful race
tracks in the nation, see some great racing cars, and talk a little
roadster. So put it on your calendar, then dust it off, shine it up, and
point it toward Plymouth, WI (directions in the RA page). See ya at the
track...
