SPL31122602 "Ratster" died last Thursday of an acute circulatory system
(oil pressure) failure while traveling on I-75 between Sarasota & Tampa
Florida. The cause of the failure has not been yet determined but
attempts at revival have proven useless (completely seized). After
~110,000 miles over the last 10 years, inclusive of 23,000 last year,
the failure came quite unexpectedly.
Ratster is survived by his long time partners Eric & Beth Roe, and close
friend '69 Jeepster Commando who is stepping in to pick up the slack
created by the unexpected departure. He is being placed in stasis (like
W.Disney - except instead of liquid N2 he's been dragged into the barn)
until revival is possible (fiscal not technical hurdles).
Any suggestions on rebuilding? The engine has not been previously
rebuilt. What about using 2L components, to make a 2L R series?
Note: this is one reason I was checking the Trader online earlier.
