There has been some good discussion regarding sandblasting recently. A
couple of questions come to mind as I generally like the results that I
get, but that damn sand gets everywhere!!!
1) Has anyone built a blasting cabinet that worked well, but could be
disassembled if need be. I would like something big enough to put a wheel
into, since my daily drivers Fittapaldi's have turned for the worse.
Storage is a problem for me since the Z and Roadster take up most (read
all) of my side of the garage.
2) What blast media do you recommend. What air pressures seem to work
best. I would probably be blasting a lot of aluminum and alloys. I notice
that Eastwood has a wide variety and an easily understood application
chart. Any experience with these materials? Just seems a little pricey,
especially if I am blowing the stuff all over the driveway or backyard.
Anyone know of any other suppliers?
