Im in the process of building, not rebuilding, a 1600 motor. I
thought about upgrading to a newer drivetrain but I recently bought
enough parts, including my tired old .040 over motor, to build 3
relatively new motors.
The 5-main that Im building for my 69 is waiting for the head to
return. The head is getting port matched to a modified Cannon
manifold and Im still debating on larger valves. I have a set of
Weber dcoe40's that have been jetted for a 1600 (so the PO says). I
am going to buy a mild cam either this week or next from one of the
usual suppliers as well as a header (mine broke while removing it). I
also have a 2L oil pump Im putting in it. Other than that Im ditching
the OE 7-blade fan and going with one of those Hayden units.

PS. The 510 is the BEST Autocross car to ever hit the track. I
want one with a Mazda 13b peripheral port monster motor.
