I've remover the head off my 1968 2 Liter by:
Removing the carbs
Removing heat shield
Removing Throttle bodies
Removing Exhaust Manifolds
Removed the Head.
The Metal under/above the head gasket appears OK :-)
The cylinder wall of 1, 4 look fine :-)
"Smile" marks on all the pistons :-(
It might have been leaking because it wasn't torqued properly.
I'll take it to a local to get it checked for warpage,
Check the valves, and get the suggested head gasket thickness.
Has anyone on the list have experience with ROCK VEST ???
Is there other stuff I should do while the head is off ???
Anything else I should Check ???
