DETROIT - Drawing on the 30-year-old design of the famous Datsun 240-Z
sports car, Nissan introduced the Nissan Z Concept January 5 at the 1999
North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The goal of the
design, said Jerry Hirshyberg, president of Nissan Design International,
was "to take some of the elements of the original car and incorporate
them into a totally new design."
