Twincam Cams

My T/C head came off a full race engine it has 1.625" and 1.4" valves ported
and flowed etc, the cams are as near as I can tell something like Hart Full
race spec I want to de-tune it for the road as the power comes in with a
bang !!!
What effect will fitting more standard cams (L1 or 2 ?) have but still using
the large valves, is this OK to do and will it make the engine more road
friendly ?
