Tor Havl spoke about the twin cam head fitted to a kent block
i carried out this conversion a few years ago.
use the kent block and crank with Twin cam pistons, +40 gives over 1700cc.
The block needs to be skimmed down to the top of the pistons using the same
clearance from piston crown to block face as on the twincam. (about 250 thou
to m/c off) ( ie 3mm).
This still leaves the engine taller than a standard T/C but it will fit
into an Elan.
i think the power stays the same but the engine has more torque due to the
exra displacement.
it is an easy conversion if you need to know more i can go into detail.
