All,
I'm an old lurker who fell by the wayside. I now have aquired a 4.2 short
block to rebuild and rejoined the list to benefit from the collective
wisdom.
The shop doing the work feels that the best action is overbore to .030" and
to grind crank .010" under. Any thoughts? Is there a domestic source for
pistons (chevy, buick, other) that would fit. Bearing source? At this point
I'm also leaning toward a cam (RP4) from RPI engineering out of England. Any
suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
