Hello all,
I would like to hear anything anybody may know about the gear
ratios in, and the suitability of, the Muncie 4-speed transmission for use
behind a BOP/Rover aluminum v8 engine. This is an aluminum-case tranny
made by General Motors and used in various medium-size and full-size
General Motors cars from about 1963 to 1968. From what I have learned so
far, it seems to be dimensionally very similar to the Borg-Warner T-10
which was used in Olds F-85s and Buick Specials in 1962 & 1963. Also does
it have straight-cut gear teeth instead of the usual helical teeth of most
transmissions?
Cheers,
David Kernberger
