On the distributor, there is a vacuum operated adjustment to the ignition timing. My distributor that came with a used engine, has a hose type hookup on both sides of the vacuum diaphragm but had no hose on it as the distributor was in a bag. I am wondering if the hose is supposed to connect to the distributor side or the side pointed away from the distributor. Any answers out there?
