A couple weeks ago i was given a pile of Rover stuff. My question is what's
the quickest way to tell if a block is scrap? Storage is a premium so i
don't want to have all this stuff taking up space. Although the previous
owner(s) went so far as to hot-tank it & put in new freeze-plugs that was
it. Possibly the bores were honed but they're covered in surface rust so
probably a bit pitted by now. The crank is all fresh & was bagged with
"0.010" label attached. There is a full set of new bearings but they have
faint rust on their edges so i suppose they're no-no for use. All the rods
are rusty since they were cleaned then left to time. They're probably
useable though with a bit of session in a bead-blaster. There are no
pistons.
What does anyone think?
